Yoroi is a light wallet for Cardano. It’s simple, fast and secure. Yoroi is an Emurgo product, engineered by IOHK. And it follows best practices for software in the industry including a comprehensive security audit. Daedalus and Yoroi are complements to what they try to achieve. Yoroi looks to be a day-to-day wallet for a Cardano user.
Daedalus is a full node wallet. Daedalus downloads a full copy of the Cardano blockchain and independently validates every transaction in its history. That way you get maximum security and completely trustless operation, without centrally hosted 3rd party servers.
Cardano ADA staking workdalus
Cardano ADA staking works in epochs of five days:
At the first change of epochs (E1->E2) after your initial delegation, a “snapshot” is taken and stored.
At the following epoch change (E2->E3) your delegation becomes active and the pool mints blocks.
One epoch later (E4) the rewards are calculated based on the number of minted blocks and the actual transaction fees that transpired.
Lastly, in E5 the rewards are paid out to your wallet.
Because of this delegation cycle, it takes 15-20 days (at least three full epochs) until the initial rewards are paid out. Since this sequence runs in parallel for each new epoch, you will then receive rewards every five days.
